Overview

Framer is a favorite for startup and SaaS marketing sites, where visitors arrive with detailed questions about features, pricing, and fit. Assistrio answers from your documentation and captures the details of visitors who are ready for a demo.

The widget loads from site-wide custom code, so it sits on top of your Framer design without touching your components or breakpoints.

  • The chatbot your visitors see is Assistrio’s Website Chat Widget — branded, mobile-friendly, and trained on your knowledge.

Why add an AI chatbot to your Framer site?

Visitors on Framer sites ask the same questions every day — and most leave when nobody answers. An AI chatbot trained on your own content answers instantly, day or night, and hands real buying or support intent to your team with the full conversation attached.

Assistrio answers only from the knowledge you approve — documents, Q&A, snippets, and datasheets — so replies match your actual products, prices, and policies instead of generic AI guesses.

Questions it can answer from your content:

  • “Do you have an API?”
  • “Is there a free trial?”
  • “How is this different from your competitors?”
  • “Is my data stored in the EU?”

What you need before you start

There is no Framer app or plugin to install from a marketplace. You paste one Assistrio script into your site, which keeps the setup light and works with any Framer theme or template.

  • A published Assistrio Agent with your knowledge added
  • The install snippet copied from Assistrio after publishing
  • Access to your Framer project’s Site Settings (custom code availability can depend on your Framer plan)

Install the chatbot on Framer

Framer’s site-wide custom code lets you place the snippet at the end of the body on every page.

  1. In your Framer project, open Site Settings and find the Custom Code section.
  2. Paste the Assistrio snippet into the End of <body> tag field.
  3. Save, then click Publish to push the change live.
  4. Open the published site in a private window and test the chat launcher.

Add your domain to allowed websites

Assistrio only loads your Agent on websites you approve. Before you test, open your Agent in Assistrio and add every domain visitors use to the allowed websites list — the browser sends your page’s origin, and it must match an entry exactly.

Add your custom domain. If you test on your framer.website or framer.app subdomain first, add it to allowed websites as well.

Test the chatbot on your live site

Open your published site in a private browser window so cached files and logged-in editor views do not hide the widget. The chat launcher should appear in the corner of the page; ask a question your knowledge covers and confirm the answer, then ask one it does not cover to check the fallback and Lead Capture behavior.

Every test conversation appears in Manage Conversations, so you can review exactly what the Agent said and add missing knowledge before real visitors arrive.

Troubleshooting on Framer

If the chat launcher does not show up, work through these checks in order:

  • Custom code runs on the published site, not in the Framer canvas — publish before testing.
  • Make sure the snippet is in End of <body>, not Start of <head>.
  • Add both your custom domain and Framer subdomain to allowed websites if you test on both.
  • If you recently changed domains, republish so the new domain serves the latest code.
